Burport (/burport/ [Translation Unavailable]) is a subtropical Town located in the Izclea Region of the Tetbur Commune.
The name Burport is derived from the Sylvin language, as Burport was founded by Feiror Yeldham, who was culturaly Sylvin.
Climate
Burport has a yearly average temperature of 24°C (75°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 29°C (84°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 20°C (68°F). Burport receives an average of 272 cm/y (107 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Burport covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 3904 m (12808 ft) above sea level.
Overview
Burport was founded durring the late 13th century in summer of the year 1182, by Feiror Yeldham. The establishment of the new community went well, with no major obsticles durring construction.
Burport was built using the conventions of Sylvin durring the late 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Burport is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature delicute timber framework hidden behind layer upon layer of finly ground plaster bleached to an almost glossy white sheen, with green clay tiled roofs and decorative brass-leafed trim. Even the smallest, poorest looking structures appear to be expencive thanks to the extreem elegence of the organic shapes and paterns going into their lofty, spire-y, vagly gothic designs. The more well off folks live in identicle homes, save for even shiner trim and a more whimsical appearance to their structures flowing forms.
Burport is buildings are located arround a single restrictive packed earth mainstreet which forms a clockwise spiral to give the town a over all circular shape. The town posesses a fortified albit thin wall of querried stone. This wall posesses most of the features of a castle wall, though it is constructed from cheeper inferior stone. It would pose a minor chalange for an attacking army, though it's clear the wall's true purpose is to crush the hopes of bandits and marauders. The town's failry decent fortifications are visibly old, but also obviously maintained semi-regularly. Its likly the local malishia or garrison are tasked with ocasional mantance of the towns defences.
Burport has the unmistakable air of a town on its last legs. Everything is a bit slipshod and ramshackle. Everyone is at work, or drinking. No one has anything in their eyes other than fear and despair. Whatever industry once fueled Burport ’s existence has dried up and the town is drifting down the stream of history as it dries up. The locals seem to have responded to their slow downfall by recreating Burport as one of the strictest places imaginable. Everyone’s actions are clearly directed by laws they keep in heart and mind at all times. Orderly byond order is a phrase which the town brings to mind.

Burport has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Burport.
Burport has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.
Burport has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.
Burport has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Burport's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.
Burport possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. These lights provide nighttime illumination to most city streets.
Burport has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.
Burport has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.
Cultural Notes
Burport's mayor's house was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used has a sleek, linear appearance with stylized, often geometric ornamentation. The primary facade of its buildings often featured a series of set backs that create a stepped outline. Low-relief decorative panels can be found at entrances, around windows, along roof edges or as string courses. It was best known for its use of smooth finish building materials such as stucco, concrete block, glazed brick or mosaic tile. Decorative details can incorporate various artistic or exotic motifs to suit the building's function or the architect's whim. Chevrons, zigzags, and other geometrical motifs are common forms of ornament.
In Burport hail is always enormous, yet harmlessly plinks off people, creatures, and structures.
Burport's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in spring and involves destroying a prepared ritual vessel to channel Charm energies of tier 3 via recitation of scripture.

In the case of some antique habitation, the denizens that once lived there might be boiling upward as their home is collapsing, or new opportunities may be revealed even as the community’s present structure is ruined.

History
In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century, Burport was attacked by soldiers from another nation, waging a greater campaign. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Burport lost 236 people, 274 livestock, and 99 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 194, when members of Burport's militia enacted an operation to secure a particular production site to utilize it for a specific task. The operation was complicated by extremely dangerous terrain, including unfamiliar and poisonous plants which many ate while foraging. The conflict ended with pitched battle between both forces, which ended in a stalemate for Burport's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Burport's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
